What we collect
If you fill in the contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address and whatever you write in the message. If you ring us we keep a record of the job: your number, the vehicle, the location and what we did.
Why we collect it
To carry out the recovery you asked for, to invoice you, and to deal with any query or insurance claim that follows. We do not sell your details and we do not use them for marketing unless you have asked us to.
The law asks us to say what entitles us to hold it. For a job we have carried out, it is that we needed the information to do the work you asked for. For an enquiry that never became a job, it is our legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch. For invoices and job records, it is the obligation tax law puts on us to keep them.
Who else sees it
Running a website and an inbox means a small number of companies handle your information for us. The contact form is delivered by FormSubmit, which passes what you send to our inbox. That inbox is Gmail, run by Google. The site is hosted by Vercel, whose servers keep ordinary access logs that include your IP address. Visitor statistics are collected by Visionoble, the studio that built and looks after this site, using its own installation of Umami. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation sits with WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta.
Each of them handles your information only to provide the service we use them for. None of them are given it for their own marketing, and we do not sell it to anyone. Some are based outside Europe or store data outside it, and where that happens they rely on the safeguards European data protection law requires for transfers of that kind.
How long we keep it
Job records and invoices are kept for six years, which is what Irish tax and limitation law requires. Contact form enquiries that do not turn into jobs are deleted within twelve months.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies at all. There is no advertising, nothing that tracks you across other sites, and nothing that follows you after you leave. That is why you have not been asked to accept anything.
We do measure how the site is used, through Umami, run by Visionoble. It counts how many people read each page, where they arrived from (including which advert or link, if it was a tagged one), and how many tapped to call, WhatsApp or email us. It does that without cookies and without knowing who you are, so we can see that forty people read the towing page and six tapped to call, without knowing who any of them were. It doesn't store your IP address, and the statistics are kept in the EU (Ireland).
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to us holding it, or ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere. Email us and we will deal with it within one month. If you are not happy with how we handled it you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
